Children from Gosforth School attend breakfast club and our staff take these children to school and collect them at the end of the school day to join us. They are also welcome at our school holiday clubs.

We recognise you as the first and most important educators of your children. Our staff see themselves as partners, working with you to provide care and education for your child.

We believe that care and education are equally important in the experience which we offer children.

The routines and activities that make up the nursery’s sessions are planned to:

  • help each child to feel valued as a member of the group

  • ensure each child's safety

  • help children to gain from the social experience of being part of a group

  • provide children with opportunities to learn and help them to value learning.

Snacks and meals are made a social time at which children and adults often eat together, and meals are prepared and cooked on the premises.

We have a high ratio of adults to children at all times which helps us to provide time and attention to each child and to talk with the children about their interests and activities. Children are able to explore and be adventurous in a safe environment. The activities children participate in are catered to their individual stage of development as well as their interests. We provide a wide range of play activities; children access these experiences in both our indoor and outdoor environments.

As part of our policy to make sure that our provision meets the needs of each individual child, we take account of any special needs that your child may have and work closely with you and other professionals to provide as fully as possible for these needs.

As a nursery we try to promote and foster links within our community to benefit all involved and have close links with Gosforth C of E School and St. Mary’s Church.

We work to the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice (2014).
